Grandparents Day and weekend fun

It was Grandparents day at school last Friday and the girls were really excited for it!
Kate didn't technically have an actual grandparents day (there are just too many preschoolers to have all those grandparents at school at the same time) but Mrs. Korn said it was fine for them to stop by her classroom for a little bit too. Thankgoodness she said it was fine because otherwise we would have had a very sad little girl. She wants to be just like Erin in everything :) Grandma Dooyema and Grandpa and Grandma Van Zanten were able to come for Grandparents day! (Grandpa Dooyema was at the Dordt board meetings)
There were a few other preschool grandparents there too so I'm sure that there were other younger siblings thinking the same thing. Kate had fun, I think, even though it doesn't look like it from the pics :)
Erin loved showing everyone her classroom and they got to do some fun activities too.
The funniest part was when she came home we were asking her some of the questions she had to ask her grandparents about their kindergarten days. Grandma Dooyema had said that her teacher would slap someones hand with a ruler if they were naughty and Erin was in complete shock that a teacher would do that. She said Grandma Dooyema must have had a mean teacher :) I think that discipline has changed quite a bit in schools over the years :)
Then Grandpa and Grandma Dooyema stayed for the weekend and since it was cold and rainy we checked out a new indoor trampoline park. Everyone had a great time (and some of the adults might have been a little sore from all the activities ;)
The mechanical bull provided quite a few laughs! Kate and Erin held on pretty well on the kid speed but wow Shane and I did not handle the adult speed very well :)
Grandpa Dooyema playing dodgeball with Erin. The ball might have been larger than her :)
Grandpa and Grandma Dooyema with the girls. Poor Claire was getting a cold that morning but we didn't know it yet. She had been pretty clingy to me but I thought she was maybe having a separation anxiety phase. But then we got home from the trampoline park and checked her her temp and it was 101... She now has a terrible stuffy nose and cold and cough. Sad! Hopefully she can get over it soon!
